Steel Photo & Film

Katilin from Steel Photo & Film reached out to us about designing a logo for their thriving photography and videography business, and we were overjoyed! There is something so special to us about working with clients in the creative field - it’s like a match made in heaven!

During our initial consultation, Kaitlin shared their brand vision, as well as their hopes & dreams for their new logo. Their main goal was to have a logo that was sleek, timeless, and modern with a classic flare.

The Mood Board

In developing the mood board for Steel Photo and Film, our focus centered on creating a logo that embodies a modern aesthetic with a timeless touch. We carefully selected colors & photos inspired by the client's creative portfolio to convey this unique brand concept. The mood board serves as a visual guide during our design process, ensuring a seamless blend of contemporary and timeless elements in their logo design.

The Brand Guide

Selecting the fonts for this project was one of the most fun aspects of this design. For this project, we ended up selecting a font from the TAN series. This font is so special because it feels so classic, but it has a fun & modern flare that grabs your attention. Katilin also shared with us that she loves clean lines, so we ended up pairing the TAN font with a thin block font to add a sleekness to this classic logo.

The Color Palette

When designing a logo, you’d be surprised how helpful it can be to have a reference color palette. Even though we went with a single-color logo, a color palette serves as a point of inspiration for the design process. The color palette we made was pulled directly from Steel Photo and Film’s photo & video portfolio because of how well it represented their brand’s vision.
